Children
We recommended that children under the age of 18 should not use an infrared sauna without the guidance and approval of a qualified healthcare professional or paediatrician.
Children have more sensitive skin and are more susceptible to heat-related conditions compared to adults. Their bodies may have difficulty regulating temperature and maintaining proper hydration levels during sauna use. Additionally, children may not be able to communicate their discomfort or recognize signs of overheating or dehydration.
To ensure the safety of a child, it is crucial to consult with a healthcare professional or paediatrician who can evaluate the child’s individual health status, development, and specific needs. They can provide guidance on whether using an Infrared Sauna is appropriate for the child and advise on any necessary precautions or limitations.
Always prioritize the safety and well-being of children when considering any form of heat therapy or sauna use.
Aged or Elderly
The use of an infrared sauna by the aged or elderly should be approached with caution and should ideally involve consultation with a healthcare professional. While infrared saunas can provide potential benefits, such as relaxation, improved circulation, and muscle relief, it is important to consider the individual’s health status, medical conditions, and any limitations they may have.
Here are some considerations regarding aged or elderly individuals using an infrared sauna:
- Consultation with a Healthcare Professional: It is advisable for the aged or elderly to consult with their healthcare provider before using an infrared sauna. The healthcare professional can assess their overall health, medical history, and any specific conditions or medications that may affect their ability to tolerate the sauna’s heat.
- Pre-existing Medical Conditions: Certain medical conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, high or low blood pressure, respiratory disorders, diabetes, or skin conditions, may require special attention and monitoring in the sauna. The healthcare provider can provide guidance on whether sauna use is appropriate and any precautions that need to be taken.
- Heat Tolerance: Older individuals may have reduced heat tolerance compared to younger individuals. It is essential to ensure that the sauna’s temperature and duration of use are within safe and comfortable limits for the person. Starting with shorter sessions and gradually increasing the duration can help gauge their tolerance.
- Hydration: Proper hydration is crucial during sauna use. Aged or elderly individuals may have reduced thirst sensations and may be at a higher risk of dehydration. It is important to ensure they drink an adequate amount of water before, during, and after sauna sessions.
- Sensory and Cognitive Abilities: Consideration should be given to any sensory or cognitive limitations that the aged or elderly individual may have. They should be able to safely enter, exit, and navigate the sauna environment without the risk of falls or accidents. Assistance or supervision may be necessary.
- Comfort and Monitoring: Regular monitoring of the individual’s well-being, comfort, and body responses during sauna use is important. If they experience discomfort, dizziness, shortness of breath, or any other adverse symptoms, sauna use should be discontinued, and medical attention sought if necessary.
- Individual Variations: Each person’s health and response to sauna use can vary. It is essential to consider the individual’s specific needs, preferences, and limitations. Some aged or elderly individuals may find the sauna beneficial, while others may not tolerate it well. Personal judgment and guidance from healthcare professionals are key.
By taking these factors into account and seeking appropriate medical advice, the aged or elderly can make informed decisions regarding the use of an infrared sauna, ensuring their safety and well-being.
By proceeding with the purchase and use of the infrared sauna from Hyper Wellbeing Pty Ltd, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the above disclaimer, emphasizing the importance of seeking medical advice before using the sauna.
